He leaves five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Wawrzyniak, Mrs. Jennie Bulaski, Mrs. Stella Braker, and Miss Margaret Kolasinski, Toledo; and Mrs. Florence Alses, Gross Pointe, Mich; sons, Martin, Frank, and Stanley, Toledo; a sister, Mrs. Michilina Kicz, Toledo; 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 8 a.m. Friday in Gasiorowski Mortuary and at 9 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Maumee. The body is in the mortuary.

He served as the post's commander in 1924, 1940 and 1962, and as commander of the Lucas County Council of the American Legion in 1940. Mr. Frankowski was employed 47 years as a supervisor by the Industrial Commission of Ohio, retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of St. Hedwig Church. He was also a charter member of the Lucas County American Legion Burial Corps, the Legion's 40 and 8, and 17 and 18 Clubs; the Last Man's Club of World War I Veterans, and Roman "Buddy" Frankowski Post 5530 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served on the Selective Service Board and was a member of the 4th Ward Democratic Club and the National Polish Alliance. Surviving are his brothers, Peter, Leo and Sylvester; sisters, Mrs. Josephine Fox, Mrs. Julia Hojnacki and Stella Frankowski, all of Toledo. A prayer vigil will be Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. in Urbanski Mortuary, where the body will be Monday after 2 p.m.

Upon retiring, after 42 years in the stenographic department of the Jeep Corp., she volunteered at St. Hedwig Rectory. While there she prepared the weekly church bulletin until four years ago. Stella was also a member of the "Buddy" Frankowski Post Ladies' Auxiliary, a life member of St. Francis Guild, the St. Hedwig Seniors Club, and the St. Hedwig Altar and Rosary Societies. Miss Frankowski is survived by her brother, S. T. "Bud" Frankowski (Belva) of Sylvania; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Urbanski Funeral Home, (419) 244-4611, Lagrange at Dexter from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday. A Rosary service will be conducted by the St. Hedwig Wake Committee at 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Hedwig Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Rev Joseph J. Services and burial will be  Saturday. Private Frankowski, 33, was killed Jan. 16, 1943 in the battle for Tunisia. Post 5530, Veterans of Foreign Wars subsequently was named in his honor. Private Frankowski lived at 322 Everett St. and was employed in county road maintenance before his induction into the army March 28, 1942. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, he had served as president of the Fourth Ward New Deal Democratic Club.
