Dr. Phyllis Bagdi Hollingsworth passed away August 23, 2009 in Kirkland, at the age of 74. She was born on September 19, 1934 in Perth Amboy, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Anne Bagdi. She graduated from Antioch College in Ohio. After receiving her MD degree from New Jersey College of Medicine, she interned a St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC and completed her Anesthesiology Residency at New York Hospital, followed by a Fellowship at Virginia Mason, Seattle. She married Dr. Kennan Hollingsworth in 1969 and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Phyllis Bagdi practiced Anesthesiology at Virginia Mason Hospital, Providence and General Hospitals in Everett and retired after over 30 years practice at Providence Hospital, Seattle. She was a lover of opera and symphonic music and enjoyed her piano. Most recently she has served on the Board of Seattle Opera. She is survived by her husband, her sister Patricia Elek, and her niece Judy DiSaverio. Private graveside service will be at Holyrood Cemetery. Mass in her honor will be at noon on Friday, August 28, 2009 at Holy Family Church, 7355 120th NE, Kirkland, WA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Seattle Opera.
