Obituary from the Saginaw News: Boone, Ella Wilhelmina Chesaning, Michigan. Passed away on Saturday evening November 27, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chesaning Nursing Care Center. Age 89 years. She was born on April 12, 1915 on Raucholz Road in Brady Township where her family settled after coming from Germany. She was the daughter of William F. and Philena (Huffman) Salzwell. She grew up on the family farm and raised geese and lambs. She loved to quilt, play piano, make pies and cookies. Ella graduated from Chesaning High School in 1932. She met Garrison Boone while he worked at Barley's Grocery Store where he would buy her ice cream. She and Garrison were married on May 22, 1935. He predeceased her on June 23, 2003. She and Garrison loved to travel, she loved to collect items such as teapots, spoons, bells, cups and saucers. She loved holidays especially Easter. Ella was a homemaker and loved sharing tea and hospitality with family and friends. She loved welcoming people to her home. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she helped with Showboat dinners and bazaars. She was a member of Chesaning Garden Club and Willing workers. Surviving is one daughter Garlene (Garrie) and Clifford Jorden, Oakley; four grandchildren, Colby Garrison and Oralia Jorden, Nita and Steve Logan, Robin and Gilbert Baldwin and Branden Jorden; great-grandchildren, Keith and Shani Jorden, Stephanie and April Logan, Nikita, Reginald, Kemet and Rashana Baldwin; two nieces, Arlington (Jim) Small and Andrea Holt; special cousin, Ellen (Fred) Bentz. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, infant sister and a brother George Salzwell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Sherry Parker will officiate with burial in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. The funeral luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Obituary from The Henderson Times newspaper: Mrs. Della Player died at her home in Carland last Wednesday Feb. 24th, 1904 at 1 o'clock a.m. of peronitis. Age 22 years and 17 days. Mrs. Player was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. George Huffman and was well-known and respected by all, having lived until her marriage in this vicinity. She was married about a year ago to Mr. Roy Player, who besides her week-old baby is left to mourn her loss. Also her parents Mr. & Mrs. Huffman, a brother and three sisters. The funeral will be held at the M.E. Church of which she was a member at 1 p.m. today, Elder Young of Carland officiating.
