WOMAN'S DEATH CAUSED BY FLU - Mrs. Sarah E. Huffman, Of Arcadia, Expires Yesterday Afternoon - Poor health, dating since Dec. 9, when she suffered a broken hip in a fall, an attack of influenza about two weeks ago and a stroke of paralysis caused the death of Sarah E. Huffman of Arcadia, a lifelong resident of Hancock County, at 12:20 yesterday afternoon. She was recovering from the affects of her fall when the attack of influenza came. The date of her birth was Nov. 24, 1840 and her birthplace near Arcadia. Her parents were Elijah and Mary Heistand Anderson. Her marriage to Hiram Huffman, who died May 28, 1890, took place on March 6, 1867. Sherman and Mrs. Alice Weimer, of near Arcadia, are surviving children. A son, Turley Huffman died on Sept. 30, 1895; and two daughters, Nellie Huffman died May 6, 1879, and Stella Huffman died on May 14, 1882. Mrs. Huffman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arcadia, having united at the age of 18 years. She had been a member of the Dorcas Society of that church for a period of 28 years. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. J. H. Lutz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery.

ARCADIA FARMER CALLED BY DEATH - Sherman Huffman Succumbs To Heart Trouble After Four Month's Illness - Sherman Huffman, 67, died at 10 o'clock Wednesday night at his home one mile south of Arcadia ending an illness of four months from heart trouble and dropsy. Mr. Huffman was born March 2, 1869 in Arcadia on the site where the Arcadia School building now stands and had lived near Arcadia his entire life. He had lived south of Arcadia for the past 65 years. His parents were Hiram and Sarah (Anderson) Huffman. He was married in 1902 to Elizabeth Wiseley who survives. He is also survived by one son, Turley S. Huffman, and two grandchildren, Carolyn and Jack Huffman. One sister, Mrs. Alice Darling, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., survives. Mr. Huffman was a director in the Hancock County Mutual Insurance Company for a number of years and was a charter member of Biglick Grange. He was a farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from the Arcadia Methodist Episcopal Church of which he was a member with Rev. L. R. Kennard officiating. Interment will be made in Arcadia Cemetery with the Coldren Funeral Home in charge.
