Obituary from the Traverse City Record Eagle newspaper: Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Honor [Michigan] Congregational Church for Wilbert Caldwell, 70, who passed away there Monday at his home. Rev. Thomas Ainslie officiated and burial was made in the Platte Cemetery. Mr. Caldwell was born in Fostoria, Ohio, May 16, 1875, served with the Ohio Volunteers in the Spanish-American War and had resided at Honor the past thirteen years. Left to mourn their loss are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd O'Leary of Platte and two brothers.

NORMAN HUFFMAN DIES AT ARCADIA - Former Township Trustee, Native of County, Dies Wednesday Night - Norman Huffman, 88, former Cass Township trustee, died at his residence in Arcadia last evening following an illness of nine weeks from infirmities of old age. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternnon from the Trinity Lutheran Church of which he was a member. Rev. Bowersox will officiate assisted by Rev. Robinson. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. Mr. Huffman was the son of William and Margaret Ruff Huffman and was born in Washington Township on June 3, 1845. He was married in 1867 to Mary Anderson who died in 1883. In 1892 he was married to Mary A. Taylor who survives. Eight children were born. They are Mrs. Laura Nelson and Mrs. Ed Walters of Arcadia; Mrs. Riley Canfield , Van Buren; William and Ephraim Huffman, Findlay. Two sisters and a brother surviving are Mrs. Mary Wineland, Mortimer; Jerry Huffman, Montana, and Mrs. Reason Crozier, Arcadia. Twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren are living. The body was taken to the Coldren Funeral home and will be returned to the residence Thursday afternoon.

HUFFMAN, 80, IS TAKEN BY DEATH - Arcadia Resident Dies Here Following Heart Attack; Funeral Tuesday - Mrs. Mary Ann Huffman, 80, of Arcaida, died at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the convalescent home of North Main Street following a heart attack she had suffered early in the day. She had been bedfast since Nov. 4, 1937. She was the widow of Norman Huffman who preceded her in death April 4, 1934. Mrs. Huffman was born on Aug. 15, 1857 in Washington Township, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Peters) Taylor. She had lived her entire life in Hancock County. She was married to Mr. Huffman Nov. 27, 1892. Stepchildren who survive are W. E. Huffman, Marion Township; Mrs. Laura Nelson, Arcadia; Ephriam Huffman, Findlay; Mrs. W. R. Canfield, Cass Township, and Mrs. E. R. Walters, Biglick Township. John Taylor, Findlay; Robert Taylor, Liberty Mills, Ind., Sherman Taylor, Balboa, Calif., and Mrs. G. W. Dick are brothers and sisters of the deceased. She was a member of the Dorcas Society of Arcadia Trinity Lutheran Church of which she had been a lifelong member. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternnoon at the Coldren Funeral Home here and at 2:30 from the church in Arcadia. Rev. W. Rufus Rings will officiate. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery. The body is at Coldren's Funeral Home.

Huffman, 74, Marion Township farmer, died at 4 o'clock Thursday morning at Lima Memorial Hospital following a month's illness. Mr. Huffman, a native of Hancock County, was born Mar. 18, 1870. His parents were Norman and Mary (Anderson) Huffman. He was married to Etta V. Mosier who died Dec. 28, 1922. He is survived by three daughters, Miss Frances E. Huffman, at home; Mrs. Purcel Parker, Route 3; and Mrs. Kenneth Philpott, Route 2; a son, Donald J. Huffman, Route 1; a brother, Ephraim Huffman, 930 Selby street, and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Nelson and Mrs. Ed Walters, Arcadia, and Mrs. Bertha Canfield, Van Buren. There are seven granddaughters. A daugher, Grace Lucille and two brothers, Morrison and Arthur Huffman, are deceased. Mr. Huffman was a member of Salem Methodist Church for more than 40 years. The body will be taken to the Coldren Funeral Home where it will remain for services at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. William Alexander, pastor of Salem Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Huffman Sept. 12, 1942. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ralph E. (Doris) Decker, Route 1, Arcadia; a son, Glen W., 1011 Central Ave.; two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Delbert (Grace) Roller, Fostoria. Four brothers and four sisters are deceased. A retired farmer and former salesman for the Bostwick-Braun Co., he served in France and Germany during World War I. He was also a member of the Vanlue Christ United Methodist Church, the Hancock County Chorus and served as a trustee for Biglick Township. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Vanlue United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Leigh and the Rev. Lewis Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Coldren Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-5 and 7-9- p.m. tomorrow.

She married F. Purcil Parker on Sept. 28, 1942 and he died June 28, 1970. Surviving are a son, Glen W. of rural Vanlue; a daughter, Doris J. Decker, rural Arcadia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald J. Huffman, rural Findlay; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Pearl) Philpott, rural Findlay. Mrs. Parker was a teacher for 35 years at schools in Van Buren, Vanlue and Carey before retiring from the Carey schools in 1970. She was a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens and Christ United Methodist Church, Vanlue. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Lynette Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery, near Vanlue. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
