Funeral services for Donald J. Huffman, 87, of 6146 County Road 236, Findlay, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church, 4660 County Road 236, the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-6 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Findlay Chapel of Mann-Hare Funeral home, and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. Mr. Huffman died at 11 p.m. Saturday at his residence. He was born Nov. 25, 1907 in Findlay to William E. and Etta Virginia (Mosier) Huffman. He married Esther L. Conaway on Nov. 29, 1928 in Spencerville, and she died March 18, 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Betty) George, Arcadia; Mrs. Lee (Carol) Dunbar, Manitou Beach, Mich,; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Pearle) Philpott, Findlay. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Huffman, Helen Parker, and Grace Huffman. Mr. Huffman was a self-employed farmer. He also drove a school bus for 26 years for Van Buren schools. He was a former Marion Township clerk. He was a life member of Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made to the church.

Funeral services for Pearle M. Philpott, 88, of 600 Fox Run Road and formerly of 6151 County Road 236, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. John W. Eyster officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Philpott died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at her residence. She was born Feb. 20, 1910, in Findlay to William and Etta (Mosier) Huffman. On June 20, 1936, she married Kenneth D. Philpott, who died Dec. 5, 1997. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Max (Marjorie) Stacy, Mrs. John (Sharon) Stacy, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Braden, all of Findlay, Mrs. John (Marilyn) Eyster, Edgerton, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a brother, Donald; and three sisters, Grace Huffman, Frances Huffman and Helen Parker. Mrs. Philpott was a former school teacher and employee of the former Hancock County Home. She was a graduate of Ohio Northern University.
