Obituary from the Traverse City Record-Eagle newspaper: Kathryn Julia Hansen, 92, of Traverse City died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at her daughter's home in Traverse City. Born May 8, 1912, in Maumee, Ohio, Kathryn was the daughter of Harry and Ida Mae (Davis) Rohr. In Maumee, she married Louis R. Hansen, who preceded her in death in 1973. Kathryn had been a resident of Traverse City since 1974, coming from Davison. She was a graduate of Maumee High School. Kathryn later became employed as the office bookkeeper for the City of Davison, where she was a member of the Eastern Star #299. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards and working numbered crossword puzzles. Kathryn's passion was her family and she will be fondly remembered as a very special lady who loved others and was dearly loved by her family. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Coesens of Traverse City; grandchildren, Kim (Richard) Simon of Traverse City, Kelly (Jim) Goff of Farmington Hills, Kurt (Melanie) Coesens of Milford, Scott (Becke) Hansen of Sanford, Fla., and Lynn (Steve) Hansen of Pensacola, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Kate and Michael Simon, Jill Ghastin, Michelle and Brian Goff, Brenden and Riley Coesens; great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Simon, Matthew Ghastin, Damion Simon and Matthew Simon; daughter-in-law, Maureen Hansen of Heathrow, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Louis, Kathryn was preceded in death by a son, Gerald in 1983; and a son-in-law, Norman Coesens in 1989. Friends may call the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City this evening, Sept. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Brethren Cemetery in Brethren with Pastor Craig Trierweiler officiating.
