William E. Rohr, age 73, of Foxglove Rd. died early Thursday morning at The Toledo Hospital. Mr. Rohr worked in the transportation industry for 47 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid fisherman, a US Army Veteran of the 380th Infantry Division, and a licensed captain in the Coast Guard. He is survived by his son, Douglas E. Rohr; and sisters, Doris M.Wallington and Helen M. Hayes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Rohr; and son, William Randolph Rohr. Friends and relatives may visit at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave., from 2-9 p.m.- Friday. Graveside Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Toledo Memorial Park.

Cartage Firm Ex-owner Was Avid Fisherman
William Rohr, 73, of Foxglove Road, former operator of Rohr's Cartage Co., died yesterday in Toledo Hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack in his home and could not be revived at the hospital, said his son, Douglas. Mr. Rohr had survived a previous heart attack in 1971. Associated with the transportation business for 47 years, Mr. Rohr had his own business many years and then operated a trucking fleet, his son said. He retired in 1981. During most of the past year, he was an independent trucker, the younger Mr. Rohr said. The senior Mr. Rohr was an avid fisherman, and operated a part-time Lake Erie charter cruiser out of Eagle Point. In 1990, the Coast Guard awarded him an honorary title of captain, his son said. Also surviving are his sisters, Doris Wallington and Helen Hayes. The body will be in the Ansberg-West Mortuary after 2 p.m. today. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.tomorrow in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
