Obituary from a local newspaper: Funeral services for Earl Leslie Brown, 54 years old, a retired Seattle fireman, will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday in the Home Undertaking Company chapel, with burial in Evergreen. Mr. Brown died yesterday. Born in Seattle, he joined the Seattle Fire Department in June, 1913 and served, except for time spent in the Navy during the first war, until 1941. He served in the Coast Guard in the Second World War. Mr. Brown was the top pitcher for the Seattle Fire Department when the department had a team in a semi-professional baseball league here from 1925 to 1927.
