Obituary from the Findlay Courier newspaper: JOHN W. BAKER - Funeral services for John W. Baker, 96, of 200 E. North St., Fostoria, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Jeffrey Waite officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Baker died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born March 25, 1902, in Arcadia to Lemuel and Metta (Dorsey) Baker. He married Olive G. Swihart on Sept. 22, 1923 in Findlay, and she died Aug. 24, 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Dona) Smith, Fremont; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Dwight; a brother, Harry; and two sisters, Lois Skidmore, Frances Kazmaier. Mr. Baker worked as a fireman at National Carbon, now National Electrical Carbon, Fostoria, for 30 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, the Sportsman Club and Fostoria Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund, 310 Riverside Drive, Tiffin OH 44830, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Thompson died of natural causes at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Carlisle (Ohio) Hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1953, in Findlay to Donald and Clara Jane (Miller) Thompson, and they survive in Mount Blanchard. He married Nancy C. Finsel on April 19, 1980, in Findlay and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Dawn M., Lori B. and Karen L., all at home; and two sisters, Lois Jean Shank, Bowling Green, Ky., Nancy Rothlisberger, Mount Blanchard. Mr. Thompson was employed at Excel Logistics in Mechanicsburg, Pa. He was an associate member of Mount Holly Springs VFW post 7343 and a 1971 graduate of Riverdale High School.
