While three members of this family—father, mother, son—are buried in Springdale Cemetery, they only lived in Peoria for about seven years. There are few early records about this family. In 1900, Frank and Daisy, and their two sons Donald Hall Klotz and Herbert J. Koltz were living in Chicago. The family had been in Chicago for about five years, having probably moved there from Ohio. Frank was born in New York and Daisy was born in Ohio. Both of their sons were born in Illinois. Frank was employed as Chief Clerk for the Stephens Co. William O. Brown, Daisy’s widowed “father,” was also living with them. He had been born in New York, as was his mother. Brown’s father had been an immigrant from England. Frank and Daisy apparently moved from Chicago to Peoria sometime during 1900 or 1901. Frank died in 1901. By the 1910 census, Daisy was still living in Peoria, with her two sons, and listed as head of household. None of the three of them listed any occupation. Donald was a 13-year-old and Herbert a 10-year-old. Apparently, at some time between 1910 and 1918, Daisy left Peoria and returned to Ohio, taking her sons with her. In 1918, when Herbert and Donald registered for the World War I draft, the family was living in Toledo. In 1920, Donald was manager of a cigar store and Herbert was a show salesman. Herbert died in Toledo, Ohio, on Oct. 8, 1928, at the age of only 28, but he was buried in Springdale Cemetery alongside his father. In 1930, Daisy and her son, Donald, were still living together in Toledo and did so until she died two years later. She was then buried alongside her husband and younger son, here in Springdale Cemetery. Frank lived in Peoria for less than two years of his life. Daisy and their son, Herbert, lived here for maybe a decade or more. But they are all buried in Peoria forever.

Herbert B. Klotz did not marry. Obituary from the Toledo Blade newspaper: TOLEDOAN DIES IN HOTEL ROOM - Body of Herbert B. Klotz, Heart Attack Victim, Found in Bed. The body of Herbert B. Klotz, 29, of 21 Twenty-first Street, who was found dead in a Pittsburgh hotel Wednesday night, will be brought to Toledo Thursday night. Mr. Klotz, who was well-known in Toledo, was a salesman for Johnson & Johnson Co., manufacturer of surgical appliance. The body of Mr. Klotz was found by the house detective of the William Penn Hotel, where he was stopping, when a friend became alarmed because Klotz did not answer the phone. He is believed to have been dead 20 hours when found. Heart disease is thought to have caused his death. Mr. Klotz is survived by his mother, Daisy Brown Klotz, and a brother, Donald H. Klotz, both of the Twenty-first Street address. Funeral services will be held at the Couldwell-Flagler Funeral home Saturday at 2 P.M. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery (see following paragraph).
In July 2013, I discovered that Herbert's name was engraved on his parents' grave marker in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, IL, where the family lived ca. 1900 - 1915. Herbert's mother, Daisy, was living in Toledo at the time of his death, and her husband, Frank, had died in 1901 in Peoria with interment in Springdale Cemetery. Herbert's supposed burial location in Forest Cemetery in Toledo does not have a grave marker; conceivably, his body could have been transferred to Springdale Cemetery where an open gravesite alongside his father was already available.

Klotz, Sr., 78, formerly of the 3800 block of Leybourne Avenue, died Wednesday in the Holly Glen Nursing Home where he had been a patient since October. He was a produce buyer for the S. Metzger Co. 40 years, retiring in 1960. Mr. Klotz was a co-founder of the West Toledo Junior Athletic league; past master of the Barton Smith lodge, F&AM and a World war I army veteran. Surviving are his daughter Mrs. Judith Irwin and son Dr. Donald Klotz, Jr. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Herman Birkenkamp & Son Mortuary. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the mortuary. The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to Trinity Episcopal Church choir or the American Cancer Society.
