Ruth Gobel Geyer, 84, of 730 Lenox Ave., died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 1987, at Bethesda Hospital. She was born March 3, 1903, in Zanesville, a daughter of Harry H. and Letta Kearns Gobel. Mrs. Geyer attended Zanesville High School and Denison University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and the Denison Glee Club. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, a past member of YMCA board, Zanesville Art Center, Shinnick Educational and Bethesda Hospital boards. Mrs. Geyer was also a member of Zanesville Country Club, past president of Junior Bethesda League and an honorary member of the All Around Club. Her husband, Robert H. Geyer, eastern division manager for Gladding McBean and Co. of California, died July 1, 1954. Surviving are two nephews, James D. Carson of Washington, D.C. and R. W. Geyer of Norwich.

Pleasant and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services Dec. 1 at Pray Funeral Rome. Interment in Gresham Cemetery in Chester Township.

Durant, Mebane, N.C.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Goebel, Fostoria; Dennis Goebel, in North Carolina; and three sisters, Mrs. Daniel (Shirley) Flagg, Fostoria; Mrs. Jerry (Marilyn) Hopkins, Cape Coral, Fla.; and Mrs. Lee (Joanne) Horvath, Bradenton, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Goebel; and a sister, Marcella Cooper. Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker. She graduated from Fostoria High School in 1940. She was a member of the Fostoria Eagles. Memorials may be made to Kaubisch Memorial Public Library, 205 Perry St., Fostoria, 44830. Arrangements are being handled by Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
