(Pete) Gobel, 76, of East Pike, Route 8, a retired Mosaic Tile Company machinist, was dead on arrival at 12:05 a.m. Sunday (July 13) at Bethesda Hospital from an apparent heart attack suffered at his home. He had been ill a year. Born June 30, 1893, a son of the late William and Anna Hivnor Gobel, he had been a lifetime resident of the area. Mr. Gobel had retired from the Mosaic in 1961. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are his widow, Carrie Jones Gobel; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Helen) Adair of Route 4; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Francis (Ethel) Basehart of Route 5; two brothers, Robert Gobel of 708 Indiana Street and Carl Gobel of Columbus; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Blue Avenue Chapel of Bolin Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
