Obituary from the Findlay Courier newspaper: Esther Mae Henry-Bame, 88, formerly of 1938 Geffs Ave., Findlay, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. She was born July 23, 1914 to Ephraim and Lucy (Taylor) Huffman. On December 24, 1942 she married Wayne Henry and they divorced. She then married Robert H. Bame December 16, 1989 and he died July 28, 1996. Surviving are one son, Dennis J. Henry of Columbus; two step-sons James A. Bame, Payallup, Wash., William Bame of rural Findlay; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Meek of Findlay. Preceding her in death are a son, Darrell W. Henry and a brother, Lloyd E. Huffman. She worked for Marathon Oil Co. for 10 years and retired from Dr. Rhoton's office as a dental assistant after 14 years of service. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a 1931 graduate of Findlay High School, serving as the class Alumni Secretary, and graduated from Findlay College in 1933. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Rev. Lowell Reeder presiding with interment at Arcadia Cemetery. Jessie G. Moore, 102, formerly of 401 E. Fremont, Arcadia, died at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Arlington. She was born Oct. 27, 1895 in McClure to Thomas and Mary Etta (Anthony) Philpott. She married Len W. Moore on Dec. 30, 1917 in Arcadia, and he died Feb. 1, 1952. Surviving are a son, Lowell L. of Arcadia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Walter R.; three brothers, Kenneth, C. Walden and Thomas Loyd Philpott; and two sisters, Frances M. Kasten and Edith J. Reid. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Arcadia United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald F. Hague officiating. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery.
