Born in Toledo, Ms. Wachter was the daughter of the late distinguished Toledo architect Harry Wachter and his wife Mabel Blanche Whitney, a descedent of Toledo's pioneer Whitney family. Ms. Wachter was a retired Toledo school teacher who taught biology at Scott High School, where she headed the Science Department and taught for over 40 years. She graduated from Wellsley College in 1920 and received a Master's Degree from Stanford University in Biology. In recent years she made her home with her niece in Bethesda, MD. Survivors include a brother, John Wachter, of San Diego, CA; and a niece, Sally H. Pugsley of Bethesda. Mr. Wachter, born in Wood County, was a lifelong Toledo area resident. He was employed by the Toledo Mould Company 26 years, retiring 4 years ago. He was a member of Hubicon Lodge F&AM, Fort Industry Chapter R&AM, EuTah Commandery, Scottish Rite and Zenobia Shrine. Surviving are a son, C. Frederick, Toledo; daughter, Mrs. Paul Longenecker, Perrysburg; brothers, Frederick W., Sandusky, O., and Charles F., Dundee, Mich.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Obituary from the Massillon Independent newspaper: William D. Klein, 67, of 223 Ohio Avenue NE, veteran printer, died early this morning at his residence after an illness of three years. Mr. Klein was employed as a printer and machinist in the composing room of The Evening independent for 41 years. He was a life resident of Massillon. He was a member and past master of Clinton Lodge No. 47, F.& A.M., and a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Massillon Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar, Nazir Grotto and the Woodmen of the World. His widow, Mrs. Maude B. Klein; a daughter, Mrs. Homer Gardner, of East Greenville; a son, Milton C. Klein, of Massillon; and five grandchildren survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the residence. The Rev. C. F. Hammen, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Massillon Cemetery. The body was removed to the residence this afternoon from the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home.
